“Blooming in the Bleak” – Doug formed the barbed wire nest and wood turned the eggs, and Ana Li wood burned and painted the eggs with endangered flowers of Washington.
“Blood Red Moon” is inspired by Rod Nelson‘s poem of the same name and was accepted into the “Inspired: The Art of Poetry” show at Larson Gallery, winning the Director’s Choice Award. Doug wood turned the moon tear-drop and added the art work. Lyn added encaustic medium with textured red blood drops.
“Precarious” is inspired by Terry Cooper‘s poem of the same name and was accepted into the “Inspired: The Art of Poetry” show at Larson Gallery. Doug carved the wood and turned the eggs, and Lyn added encaustic finish and made the nest.

“It Opened Blue” is inspired by Mark Fuzie‘s poem, “My Uncle’s Third Eye” and was accepted into the “Inspired: The Art of Poetry” show at Larson Gallery. Ana Li Gresham wood burned and painted the gourd, and Lyn did the pine needle coiling, beadwork, and setting.
“Hope from a Gingko”- Doug turned the vase, Ana Li Gresham wood-burned and painted two chickadees flying in the gingko branches and leaves. The leaf on the lid has a nuclear cloud burned into it, a tribute to the resilience of the gingko trees which have survived Hiroshima and many other environmental challenges. 23.5” x 7”
“Heron’s Glance” – wood-turned by Doug and wood-burned and painted by Ana Li Gresham. On the other side is another heron nestled in the rushes. Note the heron’s footprints on the base! 26.5” x 8”
Gourds
“Monarca” is inspired by Angie Araujo’s poem, “El Valle” and was accepted into the “Inspired: The Art of Poetry” show at Larson Gallery. Gourd with acrylic painting, pine needle coiling, and beading.
“Canyon Weave” – The gourd is decorated with oil paint, weaving, and beading.
“Classy” is 20” tall with the cottonwood branches. Pine needle coiling tops the gourd, which is textured with layers of encaustic medium, and also makes a base to stand steady.
“Pink Cyanotype”– Gourd decorated using a cyanotype process and oil paints.
“Blue Frost” is a wintry gourd with textured encaustic medium and painted natural grasses. 14″h
“Sea grass” has coiled and frayed seagrass with alcohol ink and textured encaustic medium. 14″
“Blue Shells” is made from an apple gourd with highly textured encaustic medium, topped with dyed pine needles and weathered shells. 8″d x 8 ½ “h
